SATURDAY Breakout sessions

Session A

Nialle and Vanessa Travnik

Abiding Together in Finances

Few areas of marriage invite as much daily decision-making as finances. Using the image of the vine and the branches, this session explores how finances can become a place of unity rather than conflict when a couple abides in Christ together. We’ll reflect on how drawing strength and direction from Christ shapes financial decisions, and how unhealthy patterns—learned or formed over time—can be gently pruned away. When we remain rooted in Him, finances no longer have to be a battleground but a shared space of trust and stewardship.

Abiding Love That Leaves a Legacy

What kind of love story will your marriage leave behind? Every marriage is shaping a legacy, whether intentionally or not. Couples are invited to reflect on the kind of fruit their marriage is producing—spiritually, relationally, and generationally. Rooted in abiding love, we’ll explore how faithfulness over time leaves an enduring impact on children, community, and faith. This session is for couples who want their love to echo beyond their years and point others back to Christ.

Abiding Through Intentional Connection: The Marriage Meeting

Love doesn’t drift toward depth—it grows through intention. This practical and reflective session introduces the Marriage Meeting as a rhythm of abiding: a regular space to listen, align, and reconnect. Couples will learn how intentional check-ins can prevent distance, foster emotional safety, and keep their marriage rooted in Christ rather than reacting to life’s demands. This session is for couples who want a simple, sustainable way to keep returning to love—together.

Session B

Daryl and Robin Brown

Abiding Together Through Parenting

Parenting can be one of the greatest joys—and one of the greatest pressures—on a marriage. In this session, we’ll reflect on how raising children can slowly pull couples apart or, when rooted in abiding love, draw them closer together. We’ll explore how to stay connected as spouses while navigating differing parenting styles, exhaustion, and changing seasons. Rather than parenting in isolation or survival mode, this session calls couples back to unity, grace, and shared purpose.

Abiding Together Through Conflict

Conflict is inevitable, but disconnection doesn’t have to be. This session reframes conflict as an invitation to return—to Christ and to one another—rather than withdraw or defend. Couples will explore how abiding love changes the way disagreements are approached, repaired, and resolved. When love remains rooted in Christ, conflict can become a place of growth instead of division.

Abiding as a Team

Marriage is often lived out in the midst of full calendars, competing responsibilities, and the constant pull of family and work demands. This session focuses on how couples can remain connected and unified while co-leading a household and family through the rhythms and chaos of everyday life. When couples abide in Him, teamwork becomes less about division of labour and more about shared love, presence, and mutual support.
